Summer Ministry

Summer Ministry can be done in a variety of ways depending on the area and chapters. The main focus of summer ministry for Child Evangelism Fellowship® is done through 5-Day Clubs®. But some chapters find great success in doing summer ministry through camp ministry or fair or festival ministry. Some chapters might do a little bit of all of these kinds of ministries. Read below to learn more about the various kind of summer ministries CEF® offers.

5-Day Clubs

CEF's main summer ministry is done through "5-Day Clubs."

Who can attend?

5-Day Club is open to all boys and girls between the ages of five and twelve, regardless of religious background. Parents are welcome to attend the club with their child.

What is a 5-Day Club?

5-Day Club is an exciting, fun-filled one and one-half hour held each day for five consecutive days. It includes: dynamic Bible lessons, creative learning activities, inspiring missionary story, meaningful songs, life-changing Scripture memorization.

The clubs are sponsored by CEF and many times local churches co-sponsor the club as an effective outreach. Find out more. 5-Day Clubs can be easily adapted to be used as a church VBS for churches that may not have the ability or teachers to do it on their own. It is also a “compact” ministry that is a creative and fun way to bring the Gospel into the communities where the children already are.

Who teaches the club?

Christians who are concerned for the spiritual well-being of children teach the club. These teachers have received specialized training from CEF and are carefully screened as required by the child protection policy of CEF.

Is there any cost?

There is no charge for children to attend. An optional missionary offering will be taken each day. There is also no cost to the partnering host church and/or organization.

What’s the benefit?

Children will learn: biblical principles, moral values, character qualities, respect for authority.

What about safety?

CEF has taken specific steps to insure the safety of every child. All club workers have been carefully screened as required by the child protection policy of CEF.

Other Summer Ministries

The summer ministry of CEF extends past just 5-Day Club ministry...

Vacation Bible School

Many of our chapters have found great success in summer ministry by using the 5-Day Club program and partnering with churches to help them put on a VBS. This helps alleviate some of the stresses of putting on a VBS for the church and gives CYIAâ„¢ summer missionaries even more opportunity to share the gospel with children. Contact your local chapter to see if they have a team of summer missionaries that can help your church with VBS!

Camp Good News

Our local Camp Good News® in Afton, NY is a 15 acre camp complete with a chapel, a lodge, and a lake. Activities available at the camp include fishing, swimming, kayaking, achery, and crafts. Camp Good News is a great place for kids to build memories of new friendships, outdoor fun, silly camp activities, and challenges to know God and grow in their relationship with Him. Now with recent renovation to the lodge, we hope to soon offer overnight accommodations as well.

Fair Ministry

Several chapters take part in fair & festival ministry. At these events, they set up a booth and offer various free activities. A favorite activity is free face painting however activities like games, free bracelet making, puppet shows, and other activities may also be offered. While the children are taking advantage of the fun, the gospel is shared with them using the Wordless Book. If you would like us to come to your fair or festival or would like to partner with us at an upcoming fair or festival please let us know or find your local chapter to inquire if this is a possibility.
